Thai Steamed Coconut Milk Sticky Rice Wrapped in Banana Leave (Kao Tom Jim) - Thai Steamed Coconut Milk Sticky Rice Wrapped in Banana Leave is another Thai traditional dessert with natural ingredients like banana leaves which used for wrapping sticky rice. But we don’t add coconut milk for this menu. And steam in boiling water for increased the delicious. Serve with shredded coconut and sugar.

For 20-25 person
Cooking time: 1.10 hours

1. 2 cups Sticky rice
2. 4-5 Banana
3. 1/2 cup Boiled black bean
4. 10 Pandan leaf
5. 10-15 Rope
6. 1/2 Shredded coconut 
7. 1/2 Tsp. Salt
8. 1/2 cup Sugar
1. Soak sticky rice 2-3 times for 6-8 hours. Then rinse again. Set aside until dry.
2. Soak for about 30 minutes. And cut the rope.
3. Tear and clean banana leave. Peel banana for wrapping.
4. Stack 2 layers of banana leaves. Add sticky rice with black bean on pandan leave and spread evenly. Add ripe banana. Then add black beans sticky rice and add banana on top again.
5. Decorate like boiled rice. Roll and fold firmly. (prevent the water get into a pot)  Tie with rope tightly.
6. Boil water in a pot and turn to low heat. Put boiled rice into boiling water for about 45-50 minutes. (depending on the thickness of sticky rice).
7. Prepare grated coconut and mix with salt.
8. When it’s cooked, set aside until warm. Then use a knife to cut banana leaf. 
9. Peel banana leaf softly. And mix with shredded coconut.
10. Serve together with sugar.
