Steamed Minced Pork and Shrimp - Ma Auan (Thai Appetizer) - Ma Auan is a delicious Thai Traditional appetizer since early Rattanakosin period. Ingredients of this recipe are similar to ‘Chinese Dumpling’. But different where we wrapped ‘Chinese Dumpling’ but we steam ‘Ma Auan’ in Ta - Lai cup. And serve with Thai spicy sauce for make this dish even more delicious.

Steamed Minced Pork and Shrimp - Ma Auan (Thai Appetizer) - Ma Auan is a delicious Thai Traditional appetizer since early Rattanakosin period. Ingredients of this recipe are similar to ‘Chinese Dumpling’. But different where we wrapped ‘Chinese Dumpling’ but we steam ‘Ma Auan’ in Ta - Lai cup. And serve with Thai spicy sauce for make this dish even more delicious.
Serve: 45 cups
Cooking time: 40 minutes

1. 400 grams Minced pork
2. 200 grams Steamed crab meat
3. 120 grams Pork fat (freezed)
4. 2 Eggs
5. 1 Egg
6. 30 grams Soy sauce
7. Coriander leave
8. Red goat pepper

Sauce
1. 30 grams Red goat pepper
2. 30 grams Peeled garlic
3. 1/2 cup of Sugar
4. 1/2 cup of Vinegar
5. 1 Tsp. Grounded salt

1. Mix pork, crab meat, pork fat and knead together. Then steam water in a steaming pot until boiling.
2. Put the egg down and mix together until thick. Season with soy sauce and knead until well combined again.
3. Add in Ta-Lai cup. Decorate with coriander, goat pepper and paint with egg before steaming.
4. Arrange Ma-Auan in a steaming pot for about 15-20 minutes until cook. 
5. Set aside to cool. Serve in a mold with sauce.

How to make sauce 
1. Steam red goat chili and garlic in a pot. Then grind until finely. 
2. Heat the pot. Add vinegar, sugar, grounded salt and simmer until boiling. Then add the crushed ingredient. When it boils again, turn off the stove and ready to serve together with ‘Ma Auan’.
